Just 58 days after founding, Ionized played its first official match on 18 April 2020 and won it 2–0 over Ghalib E-Sports, in the first official Norwegian Rainbow Six Siege League. The team finished 2nd of 9 in 1. divisjon avd. B (5–1, its only loss to Bitfix Gaming) and reached the eight-team playoffs, where Evil Manbabies ended the run in the quarter-final on 20 June.

In August 2022 Ionized put out the call for Platinum+ players to play 4. divisjon in Telialigaen, the bottom tier. On 23 August the new LoL team beat uSock 2–0 in its first league match, and it finished as division champions: 8–0, maps 16–1.

The Rocket League team won its 4. divisjon that same split, so autumn 2022 ended with two titles.

On 22 September 2023 Ionized Esports AS was entered in Foretaksregisteret. The same year ionized.no was registered, the club began streaming its LoL league matches on its own Twitch channel from August, and it closed the year with a three-day in-house weekend whose third day, 547 minutes, is still the channel's longest broadcast.

A 7–1 autumn, 2nd in 3. divisjon avd. B behind unbeaten Highfire (now Høg Flamme), earned a place in the four-team promotion qualifier, and Ionized never dropped a map in it: 1–0 over Your Saviours and 1–0 over who tier, the 2. divisjon side defending its place, on 19 November, then a 2–0 grand final over Your Saviours on 28 November. That completed a nine-match winning run and the first opprykk to 2. divisjon, and qualifier night on 19 November drew a record peak of 54 live viewers.

Wins on back-to-back nights, 24 and 25 February 2025, lifted the Valorant team from 1–6 to 3–6 and 7th of 10, clear of the relegation places, and the club posted “We are here to stay!” with the final table. The 2–0 over Bitfix Academy on 25 February was the team's last official match: Ionized never went down in Valorant. fsau, the club’s “GOAT”, had already left for US college esports in January 2025 and in 2026 played for Norway.

In the league's first season as Komplettligaen, Ionized finished 3rd in 2. divisjon (5–2, maps 10–5), the club's best League of Legends finish, and earned a promotion playoff for 1. divisjon. Only the 0–2 loss to Solid Gaming in the final round, on 2 June, stood between us and 2nd place and direct opprykk.

Ionized stayed in 2. divisjon for autumn 2026, with Ozzii arriving as starting mid. He went 18/4/2 on Locke in game 1 of his league debut on 8 September, but BIOS won the series 2–0, and after two rounds the record is 0–2. The split runs to 17 November, and the next charge has only just started.
